Motors are necessary, but the wires that have to be immersed in the water are very thin, and their shell cannot withstand any criticism. I unpacked the second pump, and it arrived with the wires detached from the housing. I don't know how long it will last in this state in the water. I will have to buy another one of the same for replacement ;( The cost of the defect was fully reimbursed. I ordered the same product again.
